JEST Exam Syllabus Over view
The Physics paper in Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) covers topics like Mathematical Methods, Electromagnetism and Optics, Classical Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics, Thermodynamics and Statistical Physics, Electronics.
Mathematical methods will include vector algebra and vector calculus, tensors, curvilinear coordinate systems, linear algebra, complex analysis. Newton Law in Classical Mechanics, Conservation of Energy and Momentum, Collision, Conservation Law.
There will be questions focused on topics like Force Problem, Kepler Problem, Small Oscillations and Normal Modes. In electromagnetism and optics, there will be questions related to electrostatics and magnetostatics, boundary value problem, multiple expansion etc.
