About Group X & Y Recruitment:


IAF i.e Indian Airforce Force which gives you the opportunity to enter in the Defence Job. There is two Groups in IAF which is known as Group 'X' and Group 'Y'.

  1. Group 'X' is a Technical Job
  2. Group 'Y' is a Non-Technical Job

Exam Pattern For Airforce Group X & Y:


If you are new and going to attempt Group 'X' and 'Y' Exam then this is very important to know its Exam pattern which is mentioned below.


  • The Exam would be Online for Group X and Y.
  • The Online Exam will be objective type.
  • The question paper will be displayed in English as well as Hindi Language except for English paper.
  • One mark for every correct answer.
  • If you answer wrong then 0.25 marks will be deducted.

The Time Duration For this Exam plays a very crucial role in your selection process. If you practice more and more then you can easily able to manage your time during your exam.

  • For Group 'X' Trade You will get only 60 minutes to solve all the questions.
  • For Group ‘Y’ Trades You will get only 45 Minutes.
  • For both Group 'X' and 'Y' You will get only 85 minutes to solve all the questions.

Exam Process For Phase - 2:



Once you qualify the written exam then you will be called for Phase-2 process along with some documents which you will get from its official site when your written exam result will announce.


Physical Fitness Test (PFT):

This is the physical test where the chances of rejection are much more if you are physically not fit. To qualify PFT you need basic training then only you can able to get into Airforce Job. 


  1.  You will have to complete 1.6 Km running within 6 minutes 30 seconds.
  2.  You will also have to complete 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups and 20 squats in a given time.

Medical Examination:

This is full and final test where most of the students take to serious to qualify medical examination because once you qualify Written Exam then you also qualify their Phase-2 and PFT Process and at last if you get disqualified then obviously this demotivates a lot.


But don't worry about this medical examination because if you have the ability to qualify PFT then you will definitely qualify this exam. If you don't qualify medical process then you will again get a chance of medical Re-Examination.
